The Pretenders claim another win

 - By Oslo Pretenders PR office, February 1st 2016

Saturday's early game wasn't one of the prettiest, but the Pretenders played hard, made adjustments and ended up with an important win in the end.

We were facing for the second time a team that we had no problem winning against the first time: Kjelsås 2. As they have more players in other divisions, we prepared with tough practices because you never know what to expect in this division and indeed, they had many players that weren't there in the first game. It started well for both teams, and Kjelsås 2 managed to score with a good offense or through cheap trick plays. But trick plays work for a quarter, not for the entire game. In the first quarter, they were screaming with enthusiasm after each basket they made, showing us that they were almost surprise to hold on well in the beginning. But things were about to change. The quarter ended with a score of 25-20 for the Pretenders.

As usual, we changed our defensive strategy for the second quarter and lifted by a dynamic Gvido in offense, we managed to take a strong lead before the first half finished.

The rest of the game would have been really smooth for the Pretenders having over a 20-points lead but the referees started giving many technical fouls for strange reasons to our players and really didn't work our way either for the regular fouls. Though we accept it being part of the game, and our players stepped up to score as much as possible and keep the lead. Especially Marc who finished the game with a season-high 19 points. Vilius and Dovydas were strong assets again in this game and helped to get this easy team win over Kjelsås 2. Final result: 92-80 for the Pretenders.

Next game will be in 35 day against Vålerenga and we'll need all our fans for this Clash of the Titans!
