After a dramatic finish of the season of 2020, the Pretenders can look back at a great year for both P1 and P2 in baseball.

Almost in the NM

The Pretenders had just been notified a couple of days before the NM that they had won the league after a historic 3-way tie. But going into the NM without their best arm in Alex, the squad still performed way over what was expected of them.

To make sure to have a shot at the gold the Pretenders sent their Ace - Matt Connell - to the mound in the semis vs the Suns and Connell probably pitched his best game of the season with a complete game shut-out in the 7-0 win over the home-favorites. He went all 7 IP with 6 Ks and 4 BB. Alberto Danzie hit a huge 2-run homer in the 3rd inning to give his team a 6-0 lead at the time.

In the finals Nate Peterson took the ball for the defending champions as they faced the tough squad from Bærum - ØHIL Royals. The Pretenders took an early 3-0 lead after the 3rd inning but from here on and out the Royals took total command of the game and at the end the Pretenders had to see their rival lift the trophy. Finals score 8-3.

But with a gold medal from the league and a silver from the NM, the Pretenders can't bee (too) disappointed. The club is very happy to see that we are still able to win titles although we had injuries on key players.

Good season for P2

P2 finished the season with a 3-3 record. One of the loses was against the Royals A team and the other loss was against the Alligators who borrowed at least three of our own players to be able to play the game. So strictly speaking we can say that the P2 squad played a great season with only one true loss. The highlight for the P2 squad was probably Andreas Erga's outargues hitting as he finished the season with a .722 batting avg.

All in all a great season for both of our baseball teams, and we can't wait to see how much stronger we'll be next year.

Go Pretenders!
