With another "must-win" double-header - this time vs Trondheim Baseball - the Pretenders showed poise as they extended their winning-streak to five games on the season.

Game 1: 22-6

The Pretenders jumped all over the visitors from the city of Nidaros, as they were cool and patient at the plate and scored 9 runs on 3 hits, 7 walks and a hit-by-pitch in the first inning. 8 of the runs came on two outs.

They continued in the same fashion in the 2nd inning by scoring 5 more runs - 4 of them on two outs thanks to Ai Narita's inside-the-park grand slam! With a liner over the centerfielder's head, Ai rushed through all three bases before he had hit the brakes as he almost runs past the runner in front of him at home.

On the mound Ai started yet another great game for the Pretenders, but the heat got worse throughout the game and he got replaced by the ever-young Darren in the 5th inning. At the end of game one, the Pretenders won a comfortable 22-6 over Trondheim.

Game 2: 15-5

The Pretenders continued to dominate in the second game, but Trondheim showed power and fighting spirit as the game was tied until the bottom of the 6th.

The Pretenders took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning on singles by Ai Narita and James Theodos and a double by Greg Jamanila. In the 4th they extended their lead to 5-1 on a walk and back-to-back RBI-doubles by Enrico Guerrini and Ai Narita.

But in the top of the 5th Trondheim's bat came alive and they scored 4 runs to tie the game on 4 hits - one was a result of the bright sun that made the flyball "disappear" while another one was a result of a miscue letting a single turn into a triple.

The Pretenders however never let anyone stop them and scored a crucial run in the bottom of the frame to take a 6-5 lead on back-to-back singles by Andreas Erga and Lukasz Trepczyk.  And then came the 6th inning....

With two outs and nobody on the Pretenders shifted the focus and got help from the burning heat. With great patience at the plate the Pretenders scored 9 runs on 6 walks and 3 hits to finish of the game on mercy rule 15-5.

On the mound Ty Tollestrup pitch another great game for the club with 6 Ks and 3 earned runs.

In the two games the Pretenders scored 27 of their 37 runs after two outs!

Yet another momentous day with two wins. Go Pretenders!
