The Oslo Pretenders started the season of 2019 in the same way they left it in 2018. With two solid wins vs the Suns, the Pretenders are looking stronger than ever.

Game 1, 6-0:

Alex Guilford took the ball in the season opener, and showed no mercy to the visitors from the sunny Kristiansand by fanning 10 batters in his one-hit shut-out performance. This was his 2nd shut-out in a Pretender uniform as he also stroke out his batter no. 100 in the process.

At the plate the lead-off man Terje Hoaas got on base 3 times (2 hits , BB), but got stranded twice at 3rd. On one of the occasions he got drilled in the thigh on a laser from Joe Rollwagen at the plate. The game was tied 0-0 until the bottom of of the 4th as Matt Connell and Nate Peterson started the inning with back-to-back singles. They both ended up scoring in the inning after a bases-loaded walk and a fielder's choice.

In the bottom of the 6th inning the Pretenders added 4 more runs on rbi-hits from Glenn Wells, Alex Guilford and Joe Rollwagen.

Game 2, 8-3:

In the second game of the double header, Matt Connell took charge from the mound. Allowing 3 runs (2 earned) while striking out 3 batters in his 2-hit performance (with 2 BB, 3 HP).

At the plate the whole team came more alive with 12 hits as they scored all 8 runs in the first three innings. Matt Connell opened the show with an 2rbi-single in the 1st followed by rbi-hits by Joe Rollwagen and Glenn Wells in the following two innings.

Best of the best:

 - Alex Guilford: 7 IP, 0ER, 10 K - at the plate 2-5, 3R, 1 RBI

 - Matt Connell: 7 IP, 2 ER, 3 K - at the plate 2-7, 1R, 2 RBI
