Rud Field, May 25th: Håkon Jåtun pitched a complete-game gem, mixing his effective curveball with a tailing fastball to strike out 5 Royals and allow just 2 runs on 5 hits. Backed by a stellar defense that committed no errors, Hawk retired 18 of the 26 batters he faced. (Meanwhile, Pretender batters logged 37 plate appearances.) The convincing 17-2 victory on Tuesday was encouraging preparation for the Pretenders’ upcoming E-cup tournament in Germany.
The Royals' defense was shaky from the very start, dropping Terje’s sky-high pop-up to start the contest. ØHIL’s starting pitcher received little defensive support as Los Royales committed 5 errors to allow extra baserunners. But Pretender batsmen tallied plenty of legitimate hits – 11 singles and 6 doubles – and also drew 5 walks but struck out 10 times.

Abrantes, Portugal
After getting pair of good ol' ass whoopin's against the teams from Sweden and Belgium, the Pretenders defeated Finland's Espoo Expos for their first win of the tournament and getting revenge for their 2005 loss against these same Expos in 2005.
