The Rascals are the Norwegian Champions!
Newsflash!!! Rommen, Oslo
The Oslo Pretenders Rascals showed no mercy against the ØHIL Royals in the Norwegian Championship this past weekend and beat them twice: 13-3 and 23-3 to bring home the second title to the Pretenders in a week. With solid pitching from their ace Ultra-Leif and also by the smooth K.A.Z it never became as nerve-racking as it could've been. But just as much credit should go to the outstanding offense who produced 27 hits in these two games to make sure the Pretenders managed to win yet another double - their #13 in total.

Outcasts Beat Rascals for 2011 NBL Title
The Pretender Organization Game 1: Daniel enters lion’s den, quiets Rascals
RHP Kaz started for the undefeated Rascals in this best-of-three playoff series for the Norwegian Baseball League Series Championship. Kaz got 3 quick outs, then the Rascals drew first blood on offense as Rascals leadoff hitter Terje reached base on a walk and later scored on Leif’s single. The same pattern seemed to be set in motion as in these two teams’ 4 previous matchups, all won by the Rascals.

The Pretenders end up as lucky-#7 in the Finkstonball XIV
Kusa Yakyu Attnang-Puccheim, Austria
The Oslo Pretenders participated for the first time in Finkstonball this past weekend and played 4 games with the record of 2-2. This gave them a 7th place out of 12 teams. The manager for the Oslo Pretenders – the Mullah – said at the press conference at the airport back in Oslo that he was satisfied with the result, but that he wished they had performed better in certain key situations that could’ve change the outcome of the tournament. But that either way he was very proud of their 12-man squad who went down to defend the Pretender honor in the land of Mozart.
The tournament could in fact have been over before it even started as the baggage for 8 of the 12 man squad didn’t arrive in Salzburg. Air Berlin didn’t manage to deliver and stranded our baggage in Berlin until the next day – already a major candidate for the blooper of the year award. As the first game was in the morning the day after, the Pretenders ended up borrowing uniforms and equipment from the hosts – Attnang Athletics – to be able to participate and what a legendary game it became……

Outcasts Strong on First Road Trip
The Pretender Organization Saturday, May 14, 2011:
The Outcasts brought their favorite bats to Trondheim – and used them effectively all day, logging 16 hits in each game of the double-header. SP Daniel ‘W’ Wood took the (flat) mound for Game 1 and finished all 6 innings for the win.

Game 2 featured the lefty battery of SP Ole Kristian Nylund and C Pierre-Loic Laizet. OK settled in nicely and cruised on to victory. For the 7th and final inning, CF Darren McKellep took the mound with a substantial lead and closed out the contest.
