<title>The Rascals are the Norwegian Champions!</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article360.html</link>
<description>Rommen, Oslo
The Oslo Pretenders Rascals showed no mercy against the ØHIL Royals in the Norwegian Championship this past weekend and beat them twice: 13-3 and 23-3 to bring home the second title to the Pretenders in a week. With solid pitching from their ace Ultra-Leif and also by the smooth K.A.Z it never became as nerve-racking as it could've been. But just as much credit should go to the outstanding offense who produced 27 hits in these two games to make sure the Pretenders managed to win yet another double - their #13 in total.

<title>Outcasts Beat Rascals for 2011 NBL Title</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article359.html</link>
<description>Game 1: Daniel enters lion’s den, quiets Rascals
RHP Kaz started for the undefeated Rascals in this best-of-three playoff series for the Norwegian Baseball League Series Championship. Kaz got 3 quick outs, then the Rascals drew first blood on offense as Rascals leadoff hitter Terje reached base on a walk and later scored on Leif’s single. The same pattern seemed to be set in motion as in these two teams’ 4 previous matchups, all won by the Rascals.

<title>The Pretenders end up as lucky-#7 in the Finkstonball XIV</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article358.html</link>
<description>Attnang-Puccheim, Austria
The Oslo Pretenders participated for the first time in Finkstonball this past weekend and played 4 games with the record of 2-2. This gave them a 7th place out of 12 teams. The manager for the Oslo Pretenders – the Mullah – said at the press conference at the airport back in Oslo that he was satisfied with the result, but that he wished they had performed better in certain key situations that could’ve change the outcome of the tournament. But that either way he was very proud of their 12-man squad who went down to defend the Pretender honor in the land of Mozart.
The tournament could in fact have been over before it even started as the baggage for 8 of the 12 man squad didn’t arrive in Salzburg. Air Berlin didn’t manage to deliver and stranded our baggage in Berlin until the next day – already a major candidate for the blooper of the year award. As the first game was in the morning the day after, the Pretenders ended up borrowing uniforms and equipment from the hosts – Attnang Athletics – to be able to participate and what a legendary game it became……</description>

<title>Outcasts Strong on First Road Trip</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article357.html</link>
<description>Saturday, May 14, 2011:
The Outcasts brought their favorite bats to Trondheim – and used them effectively all day, logging 16 hits in each game of the double-header. SP Daniel ‘W’ Wood took the (flat) mound for Game 1 and finished all 6 innings for the win.

Game 2 featured the lefty battery of SP Ole Kristian Nylund and C Pierre-Loic Laizet. OK settled in nicely and cruised on to victory. For the 7th and final inning, CF Darren McKellep took the mound with a substantial lead and closed out the contest.

<title>Rascals Bomb Trondheim to Pieces</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article356.html</link>
<description> Lade Idrettsanlegg, Trondheim
The Oslo Pretenders Rascals powered their way through their opening series vs. NTNUI in Trondheim on Saturday and finished the series with 4 bombs by “Ultra” Leif, Earl “the Pearl”, Erik “van Schwidish” and “Tattoo” Thomas - all four of them went over the left-center fence. In total, the Rascals produced 30 hits during the day to secure the first two wins for the new team: 12-2 and 21-2. But for a long time the debut was in jeopardy as the score was 3-2 after the 5th inning, but then… out came the wolves.

<description>Østfoldhallen, Fredrikstad
7 eager Pretender players participated in the annual WBC (Winter Baseball Classics) in Østfoldhallen. With three mixed teams of all the players that signed up, the Pretenders were represented on all three teams. Terje, Daniel W and Mark among Team Black. Luis, Farhad and Saba for Team White, while OK was alone among Team Red. After three exciting games in the middle of the night in Fredrikstad, Team White ended up on top of the podium followed by Team Black and Team Red.

Every Pretender made a good effort in the tournament with several hits, but Farhad stood out among the crowd with at least three hits - one of them on a liner up the middle off Daniel W.

<title>The Pretenders clinched their 12th Double!</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article352.html</link>
<description>Rommen, Oslo
The Oslo Pretenders Baseball Club clinched their 16th NM title and 12th Double last Saturday as they faced Osterøy BC for the first time in the NM Finals, defeating them BC 9-3 and 7-0 in the best-of-3 Finals. With great pitching from a meditating Buddha and an incredible strike-out-show from Daniel F the Pretenders had good control of the Finals and never let Osterøy in the driver's seat.

Since the NM Finals were rescheduled from August 28th, several P1 regulars had already left the country for various well deserved vacations - But the Oslo Pretenders showed depth and really proved why they are the best baseball club in Norway.

<description>September 11-12
The Norwegian baseball championship series featured a unique twist for 2010: both squads from the Oslo Pretenders Baseball Club would compete for the title.

P2 added an intimidating new dimension to this series with two newcomer talents who play for Macalester College in Minnesota: Pitcher Louis Mondale (2.79 ERA, best on team) and P/IF Mitch Glasser (.348 BA, 12 extra-base hits) leveled the playing field between the two squads.

The Oslo Pretenders continue to dominate at the plate - this time with 24 hits - highlighted by a Grand Slam by Leif in the 1st inning of the 1st game - his lifetime home run number 30 for the club!

<description>Kristiansand
Oslo Pretenders are undefeated on Norwegian soil so far this season and they continued in the same fashion in the 1st round of NM in Sunny Kristiansand this last weekend. P1 beat the newcomers from Stavanger 17-0 before cruising to a 15-4 win over their own 2nd team - P2.

On the mound, Glenn continued to blank the opponents as he has done all year long, while OK finally had to surrender his first earned run of the season. At the plate, Earl the Pearl went 6-6 with 7 RBIs and a 3-run-frozen rope over the fence to capture the spotlight.

<title>Hawk's Arm Prevails as P-Gloves Flash</title>
<link>http://www.oslopretenders.com/Article344.html</link>
<description>Rud Field, May 25th: Håkon Jåtun pitched a complete-game gem, mixing his effective curveball with a tailing fastball to strike out 5 Royals and allow just 2 runs on 5 hits. Backed by a stellar defense that committed no errors, Hawk retired 18 of the 26 batters he faced. (Meanwhile, Pretender batters logged 37 plate appearances.) The convincing 17-2 victory on Tuesday was encouraging preparation for the Pretenders’ upcoming E-cup tournament in Germany.

The Royals' defense was shaky from the very start, dropping Terje’s sky-high pop-up to start the contest. ØHIL’s starting pitcher received little defensive support as Los Royales committed 5 errors to allow extra baserunners. But Pretender batsmen tallied plenty of legitimate hits – 11 singles and 6 doubles – and also drew 5 walks but struck out 10 times.

<description>(article in french with a lot of idiomatic expressions!! try to google translate it, it may give some fun results)
